Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Splash Park

By admin

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has one of the best splash park areas of any of Disney’s resorts. The large play area has squirt hoses, water slides and a water feature that gently dumps a huge bucket of water over the play area.

Take a look at the Splash Park here:

About the Resort

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a tropical lakeside paradise set on beautiful 45-acre Barefoot Bay. Sail away to the inviting Caribbean, where lazy days are devoted to sun and sand, swaying palm trees and island foods.

Celebrate the spirit of tropical locales—from the legacy of colonial forts to lively markets—and enjoy the beaches, exotic birds, relaxing strolls or even a snooze in a hammock.

Accommodations range from standard-level rooms to special, limited-quantity pirate-themed rooms. These unique rooms feature pirate-ship beds, buccaneer accessories and swashbuckling décor from stem to stern. Plan ahead, reserve a pirate room and revel in an extraordinary vacation experience.

All Resort Guest rooms are arranged into 6 villages—Trinidad North, Trinidad South, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba and Jamaica—spread over 200 lushly landscaped acres. Each village is a welcoming collection of pastel-colored 2-story buildings clustered around its own swimming pool, all surrounding the white-sand beaches of Barefoot Bay.

The Resort’s Main Lobby, including Registration and Guest Services, is located inside the Custom House, a charming tropical pavilion designed to resemble the reception area of an exotic Caribbean retreat. The Custom House is physically separated from many of the Resort villages, and it may be some distance from your room. If you do not have an automobile, a shuttle is available to take you to your room.

The hub of the Resort is Old Port Royale, where you will discover dining, a lounge, shopping and a Concierge Desk. When it’s time to eat, you’ll find something for everyone—from quick snacks to a full-service restaurant, and even a food court themed like a quaint Caribbean town.

At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the choices for recreation and relaxation seem endless. The Marina rents a variety of watercraft—from sailboats and pontoon boats to a canoe for two. Walk the landscaped paths, take a bike ride or soak up some fun at the sprawling pool complex themed like an old Spanish fortress—complete with towers, antique cannons and a water slide.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has been designated by the Florida Green Lodging Program, recognizing the Resort’s environmentally responsible practices.

Activities for Children
A footbridge across Barefoot Bay takes you to Caribbean Cay, home to a meandering nature trail and playground. Little kids will love the children’s water play area that features squirt hoses and 3 water slides. Bigger kids can test their skills on video games and pinball in the arcade.

Have a Rollicking Good Time and an Even Better Meal At Raglan Road at Downtown Disney

By admin

How have I never eaten here before!?! Raglan Road at Downtown Disney is AMAZING! The food is delicious and the service is awesome!

When you are first seated a server welcomes you to the restaurant. Out server was extremely helpful with the questions we had. We were interested in the Kiss Before Shrimp appetizer. However, it has chilies in it, when we asked how spicy it was she responded that it did have some spice but they could make the dish with out the chilies for us. I then asked her opinion between the Fish and Chips and the Raglan Risotto. I’m a huge fan of fish and chips and risotto so I was having a hard time deciding. Our server told me she was a big fan of the risotto so that is what I went with!

While we waited for our appetizer theft brought us out Irish Soda Bread and a Guinness glaze, which is a sweet glaze made up of sugar, Guinness, and olive oil for dipping. The bread and the glaze are out of this world! I can’t wait to try making this bread myself!

The Kiss Before Shrimp was delicious! It was the perfect blend of garlic, butter, and lemon juice. And the baguette they served with it was perfect to soak up all the sauce! I knew I ordered the right thing when our entrees came out. Just looking at the risotto I knew it was going to be amazing! And when I took that first bite, I was in heaven! Hands down best risotto I have ever had! The fish and chips came out wrapped in white paper served in a silver cone. The server then takes the cone and essentially shakes out the fish and chips on to you plate. The fish was light and crispy and not at all greasy. The chips were cooked perfectly, crunchy yet warm and soft on the inside! We finished our meal with the Dunbrody Kiss. As they describe it is chocolate, with some more chocolate, and then add more chocolate. And they are not lying! It is chocolate overload in the best possible way! They start with a crust of crushed up snickers and corn flakes. Yeah, you read that right, crushed up snickers and corn flakes, then they top that with a chocolate mousse and cover that with a chocolate ganache. Then they top it off with a chocolate drizzle and two chocolate pieces. Oh My Gosh! This dessert was amazing! And you better believe we ate every last bite!

Top left corner is the Kiss Before Shrimp. Top right corner is the Raglan Risotto. Bottom left corner is the Fish and Chips. Bottom right corner is the Dunbrody Kiss.

Over all my first experience at Raglan Road was amazing and it definitely won’t be my last!

Wedding Portrait Session at Disney World

By admin

wedding castle balloons

In my opinion, one of the best parts of getting married at Disney World is a wedding portrait session inside one of the theme parks. Couples can choose a wedding portrait session at Disney World in any of the four theme parks or a Walt Disney World Resort. These portrait sessions happen very early in the morning before the park opens! You can choose to have these pictures taken the day you get married before your wedding or you can schedule them another day you will be there during your honeymoon. The only drawback to having your portrait session another day is having to have your hair and make-up done all over again! However, Disney is very accommodating and some of the cast members from the Disney salons are willing to come to your Disney World Resort room to perform these services and make you a beautiful princess all over again!

Brides cannot wear a wedding dress into any of the theme parks during normal operating hours so this is the only way to get a picture in your wedding dress right in front of Cinderella Castle! Most brides dream of being a princess on their wedding day; what better fairy-tale ending could a princess have than a picture with her prince in front of the world’s most iconic castle? Even if being a princess isn’t your thing, you can take pictures in the countries around the World Showcase at Epcot or with exotic animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Start Your Day with Character at Crystal Palace

By admin

Not far from Main Street in the Magic Kingdom you’ll find all your friends from the 100 acre woods, Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger!  The Building features a crystal atrium that stands out as a beautiful landmark.  It was designed after England’s Crystal Palace, built in Hyde Park to house the Great Exhibition of 1851.  Crystal Palace is a buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Disney & Pigeon Forge Apr-May 2010 008

Today we will talk about breakfast.  If you want to have a great start to your Disney day at Magic Kingdom, I’d suggest an early morning dining reservation at the Crystal Palace.  Did you know you can actually make a reservation before the park opens?  Yep!  Imaging walking down a nearly empty Main Street with an unobstructed castle view…perfect for picture taking!  There is a specially market gate for early park arrivals.  Bring your confirmation number.  Disney Transportation runs early enough for all reservations.

Disney & Pigeon Forge Apr-May 2010 010

Once you’re seated, you can help yourself to the buffet.  There are two sides but they both have the same offerings.  An omelet station is also featured. Menu items change frequently but usually include breakfast pizzas, breakfast lasagna, meats, baked goods, Mickey waffles, puffed french toast and hash browns.

After you get your food, the fun begins!  The characters will visit your table for autographs and pictures.  They interact in a charming manner that engages guests of all ages.  Every hour or so, there’s a Character parade for the children with singing, napkin waving and a willy, nilly, silly, good time!

Two Days is Plenty at Disneyland, Right?

By admin

disneyland-1-195

Plenty of first time visitors to Disneyland are under the impression that one or two days is more than enough at Disneyland.  Wrong! There are plenty of Disneyland Activities for keeping busy!

Two Theme Parks – Obviously, there’s Disneyland and California Adventure parks to play at. I usually recommend at least one day for each park, plus at leasts a 3rd day so you can hit whatever you missed or loved the most.

Jedi Training Academy – Take the time to find out about joining in the Jedi Training Academy. You’re little rebel fighters will thank you! Have your kids wear something flashy, Star Wars gear or even hold up a sign. This will increase the chances of them being selected. Once selected your young rebel fighter(s) will get to learn the way of the Jedi!

Mark Twain Steamboat – Have your little ones ask the Captain if they can steer. They may even get a cool souvenir certificate. Perhaps this will lead to a Pirates Life for them.

MarkTwain

Ride the Train – Walt Disney loved trains and he has shared his love with all of us. Take time to ride the train around all of Disneyland. You will see areas that are not accessible anywhere else, and you will never find views of the lands like these.

Take a trip on the Monorail – Jump on the Monorail in Downtown Disney and head out to Tomorowland. If you just want to relax and take some time off your feet, get on at Tomorrowland and ride it till it returns to Tomorrowland.

Downtown Disney – I love Downtown Disney, first it has my favorite non-theme park restaurant, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. Come by and have the jambalaya, then stay for the beignets! There’s so many shops and clubs to check out. You could spend hours playing with Darth Vader at the Lego Store alone. Not to mention, people watching in Downtown Disney is a relaxing fun event.

Disneyland Resort Hotels – Even if you’re not staying in one of the resort hotels, you can still take a peek inside the resorts. Head over to the Grand Californian Resort and Spa to chill at the outdoor fire pit. You can head inside and enjoy a meal at Storyteller’s Cafe, shop in the gift shops or cruise around and look for Hidden Mickeys.

Away from Parks – You are just south of Los Angeles, head out to Santa Monica for a day and spend some time at the beach. Head south to San Diego and visit the world famous zoo. Enjoy some time at SeaWorld with Shamu and friends. The area attractions are many and can be included in most Disneyland packages!
